Hello, I'm Jennifer and my family and I live in south-central Alaska. I love all things style and fashion and started this blog when I was working a job that provided little in the way of creativity. I no longer have that job but I've stayed for the amazing connections to other people that blogging has brought.
My style is pretty casual. I'm a stay-at-home mother of 3 girls. Anchorage is a very relaxed town (and was unfortunately named the "worst dressed" by Travel + Leisure magazine readers in 2012), the winters are pretty long and harsh, and there's not a lot of occasions to dress up. The Suburb Experiment is about me finding a way to feel stylish while still being comfortable.
I like to mix vintage and thrift store finds with designer pieces, H&M, and Madewell. My favorite designers are Chloe, Isabel Marant, Ulla Johnson, and Ralph Lauren. My style tends towards snow bunny in the winter, hippie in the summer, and a little bit 70's year 'round.
When I'm not blogging or taking pictures of my ability to get dressed, my family and I love to hike and camp and that's where you'll find us most days in summer. I absolutely love Alaska and I'm just warning you that I talk about it. . . a lot. I also like landscape photography, yoga, learning new languages (pretty good at reading and understanding French, just started on Danish), interior design, and reading.
If you're a fellow Alaska style or fashion blogger, please introduce yourself! There's not many of us and we can be a little hard to find!
