Instagram Roundup: A Few Core Capsule Looks And More

Tee: J.Crew (here) // Necklace: Madewell (similar here) // Jeans: Acne Studio (here but I got mine from the RealReal) // Shoes: Madewell (here) // Earrings: J.Crew (here)

This tee is from my core capsule! I love it. It's probably my favorite item. It has the fun sleeve detail and the comfort of a, well, t-shirt. It's going to look sooooo good under overalls. And of course I'm wearing my favorite necklace which is sadly sold out but the Kenneth Jay Lane one I linked to is a pretty good substitute. And I really love the shoes but I'm afraid I bought them too late (but on sale with an extra percentage off!) for fall in Alaska. They're crazy comfortable and I think a good transition shoe for someone who lives in, um, not Alaska. haha!

Hat: Janessa Leone (sold out. :( try this one) // Sweater: S├ęzane (here) // Necklace: Madewell (similar here) // Jeans: Paige (here) // Boots: vintage (check Etsy! OMG these blue ones or these ones MADE OUT OF JEANS)

Can't stop wearing these vintage boots. They have the perfect slouch and the perfect color. I think vintage shoes can be a little iffy and I don't buy them often. It's not an "ick" factor or anything, I just usually rely on my footwear to be pretty modern to bring my vintage pieces into the new millennia. But these won my heart.

Dress: vintage // Sweater Coat: vintage (Madewell has a similar one here)  // Boots: vintage

Yay all vintage everything! The saddest part of not fitting into my old clothing is the loss of vintage that I spent 20 years collecting. Some pieces I can still make work though and that makes me so happy!

Shirt: Madewell (in flannel here) // Coat: vintage London Fog (check Etsy) // Belt Bag: vintage Dooney & Bourke (here's a blue vintage Coach one!)  // Pants: Uniqlo (here) // Mules: vintage (Check Etsy)

When I bought the belt bag it was super dusty and dinged up. The cashier turned it over in her hands a few times and suggested that she charge even less than the $2.99 price tag. She was not impressed and probably thought I was nuts for paying "full" price. A little cleaning and it looks great! Right after I talk about not buying vintage shoes here's another pair. Whoops.

And just a quick word about the shirt. The ex-boyfriend fit is my favorite shirt from Madewell and I usually buy one version every year or so. Plaid, white, striped. It's forgiving and flattering all at once.

Jacket: Zara (sold out? I can't find it again. It's newish though. Similar here) // Tee: ancient linen tee (similar here) // Overalls: Levi's (here) // Boots: Zara (old, similar here)

A cool, wet summer has transitioned into a cool, wet fall. A boldly striped water-resistant jacket brightens up a dreary day.

Sweater: Free People (here) // Jeans: AG (here) // Earrings: J.Crew (here)

And a cozy sweater! I'm super snobby about sweaters. They need to be warm but breathable. NO ACRYLIC. I cannot handle the feel of acrylic even if I love, love, love the sweater. There's been some heartbreakers in the thrift store I tell ya. So the fact that this sweater contains 40% acrylic and that I like it is crazy. Somehow I don't melt into a puddle of angry red Jenn when I wear it which is a snuggly miracle. I'm really selling this thing, huh? I'm a terrible style blogger. We've established this many times over the years. :)
