Well, we've hit that time of season where I have very little desire to keep buying winter stuff. I own pretty much all I want to own for now. Great, right? But what does that mean for a style blog? Kasmira interviewed me for her blog and her first paragraph got me to thinking: What did happen to style blogging?
All of a sudden we have a lot of full-time fashion bloggers getting dressed for literally the sake of selling their outfit. They're usually not going to be wearing anything that isn't available in stores because that's not how they earn a commission (and a living). These blogs are very pretty to look at and inspirational but sometimes it's jarring to realize that the blogger isn't wearing a holiday outfit to go to a party, they're wearing it to sell it to you. There's nothing wrong with any of these things but there is often a lack of everyday wearable clothing and you rarely see the same item worn a different way.
So where did so many of the mixing high with low, new and old, wear things more than one time bloggers go?
Have you discovered any new blogs lately? With pretty pictures and people with lives outside of getting dressed, well, getting dressed? I'd love to hear!
