On Wednesday I was lucky enough to get an invite to what is turning into an annual blogger event at the 5th Avenue Mall. This year Crush Wine Bistro & Cellar hosted our drinks and appetizers and it was so good. I'm personally responsible for eating too much of the macaroni and cheese (washed down with champagne) but I heard the crab toast was delicious as well. I've recently become allergic to shellfish so basically I was watching everyone else eat it like a kid with my nose pressed up to the glass.
We then got a tour of Nordstrom's holiday decor and gift-giving ideas. Their kids' section had some really cute toys including indoor snowballs. Indoor snowballs! And I love the home department's Alaska gifts. They are Alaska-centric without running into cheesy territory, a pretty hard balance when it comes to themed home decor.
Lush has gift sets ranging from $13 to $300+. Some of those boxes came up to my knees! While I was there I grabbed a bath bomb for each of the girls' stockings but I'm going to go back to get Andrew a few things for under the tree too.
So if you're cold, bored, need to do some Christmas shopping, or any combination of the three, 5th Avenue Mall is all decorated for the season with lots of fun options. Or maybe you just want to wear your fancy shoes without ruining them - indoor parking! This is my kids' favorite part of downtown. Not the fancy shoe-wearing, the parking garages. Whatever reason, Christmas is less than three short weeks away and I gotta get going and wrap things up (figuratively and literally) here.
I was compensated for my time but not for this post. All opinions and photos are my own.
