My Pink Ladies
The girls love to have their photo taken, and specifically, want to have outfit photos taken with mommy. I've been a little leery of doing that. I feel like Andrew and I already have to fight against society telling our girls that their most valuable asset is how they look. I'm really trying to instill in them that fashion and style is one of mommy's hobbies, among others like yoga, reading, and singing really loud in the car. It's pleasurable for me, and I don't do it for anyone else's approval.
Yesterday though I had to call in sick from work to take Andi to the doctor. I was feeling indulgent and after Arlie picked out outfits for the two of them, we headed outside for pictures. As you can see, it was kind of like herding cats. Andi knew she wanted to be in our vicinity but wouldn't turn around. Arlie is "posing like mommy" in the last photo. Yeah. . .thanks, kid.

You three are just too cute!
And I love those amazing heels.
Have a wonderful weekend, Jenn!!
i think there is nothing wrong with indulging girls (or boys) in how pretty they are. i tell my daughter how beautiful she is all the time. and she is certainly a little fashion maven, which i am so proud of. she is also a little genius, and i laud her with compliments on that, too. i want my kids to have high self esteems regarding their looks and their talent, so i see nothing wrong in telling them how great looking they are. i think what you are doing is fabulous! they are adorable (and probably very smart, too)! sorry for the long post....have a great weekend!
Another outfit I adore! So casual but than BAM with the heels.
I am with you on the picture taking and girls. Ava loves to pose with me and asks me to take her picture all the time. I always remind her of how smart she is and that mama likes to blog because she likes clothes:)

awww your little girls are cute!! love those shoes, wicked!!
So cute! You're right, it's so important that they know they shouldn't have to look good for anyone but themselves...to have fun with their image and enjoy it instead. I think you'll have two very stylish, individual girls just like their mum :)
Haha! That last picture is SO cute!! You look like a hot mama in those jeggings and relaxed shirt!
So sweet! My 4 year old daughter always to be in my "fashion blog" pictures, too. Those jeans look great on you!
I love these shots. You look super chic too! ;)
Aw adorable! I say if your daughter's are into it, let them indulge and feel good. I was such a tomboy growing up that I didn't discover I liked "fashion" (or girly things) until I was much older. I also didn't have a Mom that was into such things to learn from. The nice thing is your daughters have you to watch and see how good it makes you feel to be confident in the clothes you wear and to feel good about yourself. Good for them and you:)
Such nice and simple bright looks. The children look amazing in checked dresses...a mundane routine can become more interesting with such simple nice dressing ups.
Well, hello Mini-Me Jenn! She has your look down pat! I love it.
