In picture #2 you can see what I was whipping around to look at in picture #4. That small brown blur in the background is a chipmunk crossing the road. My girls in were in the window hollering, "SQUIRREL! SQUIRREL!". How could I NOT look?
In other news, I've decided to do more with my time (I know, right?) and I checked out an audio book from the library. I sit in the car for a least an hour and a half each day, might as well. Anyway, my first foray has been pretty good (it's The End of the Wasp Season by Denise Mina if you're interested.) I've noticed 2 things though:
1. I arrive at my destination wondering just how in the hell I got there.
2. Since the narration is done by a Scottish woman, there is a few disorienting moments after exiting my vehicle where I expect everyone to be speaking in a Scottish accent.
I'm still deciding if this is really something I should be doing. . .

Your title should be amended to add "and sequins and snakeskin." I love that top - that is one of my favorite spring-y shades. I wore a J Crew Factory tee in that shade last weekend paired with seafoam and I really liked the effect.
I wish I had thought about getting an audio book before our trip to UVA (two hours away from my house) and back tomorrow. My son will have his DSi XL and the portable DVD player. I will have my five year old iPod. Boo.
Ha, I feel so better hearing that you were disoriented after driving while audiobooking. I just have a running narration going on in my head and usually don't remember much about my car journeys. ALSO I LOVE YOUR CLUTCH

LOL I think that audio books are a great idea, but I do understand how it can be concerning when you get somewhere and don't remember how! Love your striped skirt!

I LOVE audio books! I drive about an hour and a half every day too and I'm totally hooked on audio books. Sometimes, good ones are hard to come by though. And I totally know what you mean about the disorientation and the accent. The last book I listened to (Absurdistan - I couldn't finish it...) was narrated by a man with a VERY heavy Russian accent.
You should only worry if you start speaking with a scottish accent! Love that fun top!!
I totally audio book (as you know from the Reading Rainbow Room). I spend a lot of time commuting too. I find that sometimes my mind wanders and I realized I missed part of the book. I think I would enjoy having "accent disorientation". Sounds interesting.

love these mixed patterns. seems like stripes AND ikat can pretty much go with anything and look fabulous. and i pick up accents like crazy. my sister used to make fun of me when we'd travel to different places and suddenly i'd be speaking like the people there. it's a weird habit. it's like when madonna started speaking with that english accent.

I'm totally into audio books! Used to listen to them all of the time on my commute, and still do when we go on road trips. My mom and I started getting about 1/2 of our book club books (have to read 1/mo) on audio, because we'd get behind on our reading and have no time to read anything else aside from the book club pick.
My all time favorite and the very first audio i ever listened to is bridget jone's diary (long before it was a movie)... LOVED the accent... made the book that much better :).
