Mrs. Pants

I had the following conversation with my husband about these gauchos:

Me: (twirling) What do you think about these pants?

Him: (blank look) Pants?

Me: (high kick to the side to show off said pant-ness) Yeah, pants!

Him: Ummmmm. . .

Me: Awesome, right?

Him: I would call those "I dare you pants".

Me: Huh?

Him: As in, "I dare you to be attracted to me in those pants".

Me: (laughing) But I need something I can pair with a little sandal and a tank and just, you know, bum around in.

Him: (shaking head) Jeans? Capris? Shorts? ANYTHING else? Why would they ruin a perfectly good skirt like that?

Me: (still laughing) Maybe they'll go back. Right after I wear them awesomely and write about this in a post, where everyone will totally support their awesomeness. (flounces off)

So I got up this morning, styled them, slapped a hat on my bedhead and took photos. I'm that committed.

thrifted blouse and jewelry
Free People pants
Nordstrom boots
Kate Spade sunglasses

You can even make high waisted gauchos look cool---very impressive!!

The question is, did he like 'em when he thought you were wearing a skirt? He didn't even realize you were wearing anything "weird" until you pointed it out right?

a. love them
b. men do not understand things that are more than one thing at once. They want pants or a skirt. A "pirt" as it stands, is just confusing for non-multitasking brains. This is not a dig on men. It just is what it is.
c. A skirt that lets you sit on the floor with your kids while putting the kibosh on the chance you will show off your Merry Christmas to the world is always a winner.
d.refer to A.

*side note. I love it how men are not attracted to us dressed up in something put together and yet would be all hot and bothered if we were wearing like a clown nose and banana bra, as long as it was paired with thigh highs and heels.

Husbands know nothing. Those pants are amazing and you are totally rocking them!

Seriously what do Husbands know about fashion? I'll ask my Husband about an outfit thinking I look totally cute and he'll make some weird look or gesture leaving me totally questioning my entire look. We really should just NOT ask them, lol.

Oh man. Hilarious. Boys.

You look gorgeous. I think they're fun and I agree that you can easily run around in the summer with a tank and sandals and this will work. But I also love how you styled them here as well.

I think the print is awesome and I love them with that equally flowy top. And agree they'll totally work for summer too.

There is no way this conversation would have even gone on so long in my house. My hubby would have said something rude and then I would have stomped off mad. (which is why I don't speak to hubs about fashion). Really, what do they know? I love gauchos!

Ha, I don't know how you do it, Jenn. How you take something as quirky as gauchos and make them look so darn cool!?! Seriously, I want a pair for myself and after years of being forced to wear culottes, I swore I'd never don something like thema gain! lol

You go girl! Sometimes boys just don't understand...

Girl, these pants are amazing! Did you just buy them from FP? If so, I might have to go snatch up a pair :)

And I so get it, most of what I wear, my friends/family just really don't get. But I have to say that this is one of my favorite outfits of yours :)

xx

i LOVE those pants! they're fab. this whole outfit is amazing. that thrifted top is great, and that hat and necklace are perfection!!!

i'm laughing at the convo with your hub. cuz my hub says some similar things to me about some of my more fun fashion choices.

and 3 is tough. only because pigtails is 2 and that's a tough age. i feel a little overwhelmed. some ways it's easier because my oldest plays with my middle. but in other ways it's super hard because, dang, i have 3 and that's a lot!!!

what a pretty outfit

Personally, I think you look adorable. Boys don't know anything about style.

However...he does get points for humor. :)
